On December1, 2020, China Association of Construction Enterprise Management announced the first name list of "National Quality Engineering Award" in 2020-2021. Noor Tower Type CSP Project Phase III in Morocco designed by NWEPDI won the gold award of National High Quality Project Awards (overseas project). In this year, there are 4 overseas projects in total were selected in the name list, and Noor project is the only overseas power project awarded this award.

The installed capacity of Noor Project in Morocco is 150 MW, which is currently the only CSP tower plant with the largest single unit capacity in the world. The project was commenced on May 18, 2015 and was completed and put into operation on October 20, 2018. The project is able to deliver 530 million hours of clean and green power for the Moroccan power grid every year. The project has been awarded several awards such as the First-Class Achievement of Green Construction Design Level of National Engineering Construction Projects, the First Prize of Excellent Engineering Design Award of Electric Power Industry, China Power Quality Engineering and many provincial and many other ministerial level science and technology progress awards.

By implementing of Noor Project, NWEPDI has accumulated a lot of design experience in CSP field. Based on the design concept of this Project, NWEPDI devoted a lot to the promoting and developing of the first batch of domestic CSP demonstration projects in China, and also improving the design level of domestic CSP generation.

The National Quality Project Award is the earliest national award with highest specification, and which is an award cross industry and cross specialty in China's engineering construction quality. The selection scope covers various industries in construction, railway, highway, chemical industry, metallurgy, electric power and other engineering construction fields. The evaluation includes all engineering construction procedures and links from project approval to completion acceptance. Among the above mentioned awards, National High Quality Project Gold Award is the highest honor in engineering construction field, which demonstrating the leading role in engineering construction industry.
